Tracking Your Reading Progress

Keep track of what you’re reading, update your progress, and see your reading history all in one place.

Every book in your collection has a reading status:

StatusWhat It Means
Want to ReadOn your list but not started yet
ReadingYou’re actively reading this book
PausedYou’ve started but set it aside for now
CompletedYou’ve finished reading
  1. Open the book’s detail page
  2. Tap Start Reading (or Want to Read if you’re saving it for later)
  3. The book appears in your Collection

As you read, you can track how far along you are:

  1. Open the book from your Collection
  2. Tap the progress area
  3. Enter your current page number or adjust the percentage slider
  4. Your progress saves automatically

You can track by percentage or by page number — switch between modes in the progress area.

Open Collection to see all your books. Use the status filter to narrow to:

  • Reading — What you’re actively reading
  • Paused — Books you’ve set aside
  • Completed — Books you’ve finished
  • Want to Read — Your reading wishlist
  1. Open the book’s detail page
  2. Tap the progress area and set it to 100%, or tap Mark as Completed
  3. The book moves to your Completed filter

Completing a book may also update your progress in any active reading plans you’ve joined.

When you update a book’s status, you’re sending a small social signal to other members of your libraries. On any book’s detail page, members see four rows of community activity:

  • Favorited by — members who marked the book as a favorite
  • Want to read — members who added it to their want-to-read list
  • Reading — members currently reading it
  • Completed — members who have finished it

Each row shows a short stack of member avatars; tap a row to see the full list. Library admins can also see aggregate counts of which books their members want to read, so they know what to add to the library next. If you have a book on your want-to-read list and your library stocks it, you’ll get a one-time notification letting you know it’s available to borrow.

If you’d rather not appear in those rows, your privacy setting in Settings → Privacy controls whether your name is visible to other members. The setting protects you from other members but not from the admins of the libraries you’ve joined — admins always see the activity in their own library.

  • Your reading streak (consecutive days with any reading activity) appears on your home page
  • Completed books count toward library reading challenges automatically
  • You can change a book’s status at any time — even move a completed book back to “Currently Reading”
