Viewing and Managing Your Profile
Your profile shows your reading activity, stats, favorites, and library memberships to other members of libraries you’ve joined. You decide whether it’s visible or hidden.
Viewing Your Profile
Section titled “Viewing Your Profile”Tap your avatar (side menu on mobile, user menu on desktop) to open your profile page. You’ll see:
- Currently reading and want-to-read books
- Reading statistics for the year
- Favorites
- Recently finished books (past 90 days)
- Reading plans you’ve joined
- Personal reading goals
- Libraries you share with the viewer
Profile Visibility
Section titled “Profile Visibility”Your profile has a single Show Profile toggle in Settings → Privacy:
| State | Who Can See It |
|---|---|
| On (default for adults) | Members of any library you’ve joined |
| Off (default for minors) | Only you |
When your profile is off:
- It doesn’t appear in library member directories
- Your reading milestones don’t post to activity feeds
- Your name and avatar still appear on loans, requests, and plan participant lists—these remain for coordination, but they no longer link to a full profile
Adults and Minors
Section titled “Adults and Minors”- Adults (18+) default to visible and can toggle at any time
- Minors (13–17) default to hidden
- Supervised minors can’t change the toggle themselves—their supervisor controls it from the Supervised Accounts dashboard
See Supervision for Minors for details.
Hiding Past Activity
Section titled “Hiding Past Activity”Turning off your profile only affects future activity by default. If you want to hide what’s already been posted:
- Turn off Show Profile
- When prompted, choose to also hide all your past reading activity
- Previous reading milestones are removed from other members’ feeds
You can change your mind later—but turning the profile back on doesn’t restore already-hidden past activity.
Who Always Sees Some Info
Section titled “Who Always Sees Some Info”Even with your profile off, a few things stay visible:
- Name and avatar on loan details, borrow requests, and plan participant lists—needed for coordination with the people you’re lending or plan-joining with
- Library admins can see membership and activity in their own library for management purposes
- Your email is visible to library owners and admins only, never to regular members
