Understanding featured books
Featured books are admin-curated picks that appear near the top of a library page — a quick way to surface the reads your community shouldn’t miss. If no books have been featured yet, this section is hidden.
Where Featured Books Appear
Section titled “Where Featured Books Appear”Open any library you belong to. If admins have featured anything, you’ll see a Featured Books rail near the top of the page. Each card shows the cover, title, author, an optional note on why it’s featured, and how many members are currently reading it.
Tap the book card to open the book’s detail page and request to borrow it. The card shows the first line or two of the admin’s note; the book’s detail page shows all of it.
Writing the Note (Admins)
Section titled “Writing the Note (Admins)”When you feature a book, the Why feature this book? field is where you tell members what makes it worth their time. It’s optional, and it’s limited to 280 characters — a couple of sentences. A counter appears as you approach the limit.
Keep it short on purpose: the note is quoted in full on the book’s detail page, right above the borrow button, so a tight recommendation lands better than a paragraph.
Past Featured
Section titled “Past Featured”Featured picks can have an expiration date, so the books rotate over time. To see what your library has featured in the past, tap Past featured in the section header. This opens a full history, so a book you spotted last month doesn’t disappear for good.
If the current rail is empty but the library has featured books in the past, you’ll still see the section with a quiet “no active picks right now” note and the Past featured link.
Plan Limits
Section titled “Plan Limits”Free libraries can feature up to 3 books at a time. Paid plans allow unlimited featured books. See Subscription plans and limits for the full breakdown.
