Browsing Library Collections

Collections are curated groupings of books inside a single library, like “Pastor’s Picks” or “Kids Area.” A library admin creates them and assigns books, and they show up on the library page so you can browse a library’s highlights at a glance.

For a quick overview of how collections compare to categories and tags, see How books are organized.

  • Library-scoped. A collection lives inside one library. The same book can be in “Pastor’s Picks” at one library and not at another.
  • Curated, not automatic. A library admin chooses which books belong. Categories are assigned automatically by the platform; collections are hand-picked.
  • One book, many collections. Within a library, a book can appear in several collections at once (for example, “New Arrivals” and “Family Favorites”).

Open any library and look just under the stats. If the library has any collections with books in them, you’ll see a horizontal Collections row with one pill per collection.

  • Each pill shows the collection’s name, color dot, and book count
  • Tap a pill to open that collection
  • Tap All collections → at the end of the row to see every collection in the library

If a library has no collections yet (or every collection is empty), the strip stays hidden so the page doesn’t feel cluttered.

From the strip, tap All collections → to land on a grid of every collection in the library. Each card shows the collection’s name, description, and book count. Tap a card to dive into that collection.

Tapping a collection takes you to a page showing every book that belongs to it. From there you can:

  • Tap any book to open its details
  • Borrow books the same way you would from anywhere else in the library
  • Use the back button to return to the library or the All Collections page

Library admins can create, rename, recolor, and delete collections from the Inventory tab in the admin area. Adding books to a collection is also done from the inventory list — pick the book(s), then assign them to the collection(s) you want.

Members will only see a collection in the strip once at least one book has been added to it.

If you can’t find a collection you expect to see, it may not have any books in it yet — check with a library admin. Or contact support.
