Profile Settings
Customize your Agathos Books profile with your name, photo, and account preferences.
Accessing Your Profile
Section titled “Accessing Your Profile”Open Settings from the side menu (mobile) or the user menu under your photo (desktop). The first row, with your photo, name and email, opens Profile.
Settings is a short list; each row opens its own page (Profile, Notifications, Privacy, Appearance, and so on). The back arrow takes you back to the list.
Profile Information
Section titled “Profile Information”The Profile page shows your photo, then Your details: Name, Email and Phone. Tap a row to open Edit profile with that field ready to type in.
Display Name
Section titled “Display Name”Your display name is shown to other library members. To change it:
- Go to Settings → Profile
- Tap Name
- Enter your new name in Display name
- Tap Save at the bottom of the editor
If you close the editor with changes you haven’t saved, it asks Discard changes? first: Keep editing takes you back to your changes, Discard closes without saving.
On your own profile page, Edit profile opens Settings → Profile with the name ready to edit.
Profile Photo
Section titled “Profile Photo”Add a photo so library members can recognize you. You can start from Settings → Profile, or tap your photo on your own profile page or member preview sheet.
- Go to Settings → Profile (or tap your photo on your profile)
- Tap Change photo (or Choose photo during setup) and pick an image (JPG, PNG, or WebP). On mobile, the system sheet may also offer the camera.
- Drag to position your face inside the circle and use the zoom slider, then tap Save photo. Large camera photos are compressed automatically before upload.
- To remove your photo, tap Remove photo, then Remove photo again to confirm (or Keep photo). Shown only when you already have a profile photo
Photo uploads and removals save immediately.
Contact Information
Section titled “Contact Information”Email Address
Section titled “Email Address”Your email is used for sign-in and important notifications. Every account has an email, so you can change it but not remove it. To change it:
- Go to Settings → Profile
- Tap Email
- Enter your new email
- Tap Save, then verify the new email via the code sent to it
Your current email keeps working for sign-in and notifications until you verify the new one — the change takes effect only after verification. An email that still needs confirming shows Verify next to it on the Profile page (and Verify your email on the Settings list); tap Verify to get a code. A confirmed email shows Verified. If you signed up with a phone number, the email you entered at signup shows here with Verify until you confirm it.
Phone Number
Section titled “Phone Number”Add or update your phone number for SMS verification and notifications:
- Go to Settings → Profile
- Tap Phone
- Enter your number
- Tap Save, then verify via SMS code
Having both email and phone gives you a backup sign-in option if you lose access to one.
Sign-In Methods
Section titled “Sign-In Methods”Every account signs in with email. You can also add a phone number to sign in by SMS:
- Email — Always on your account; used for most sign-ins and notifications
- Phone (optional) — Add it for SMS sign-in and as a backup if you lose access to your email
To add a phone number, open Settings → Profile, tap Phone, enter the number, tap Save, and complete verification. A phone number can be removed later, but your email cannot — it’s required on every account.
Signing Out
Section titled “Signing Out”Tap Sign out under Account near the bottom of Settings, in the side menu, or in the user menu. Signing out signs you out on all your devices and stops push notifications on them until you sign in again, so the app asks Sign out everywhere? first: tap Sign out to go ahead, or Stay signed in.
Agathos Books has a light theme and a dark theme. To choose one, go to Settings → Appearance and tap Light, System, or Dark under Theme. It’s saved on that device.
System matches your phone or computer, and switches when your device switches between light and dark.
Text Size
Section titled “Text Size”On iPhone and iPad, the Agathos Books app follows your device’s text size. If you make text larger in your device’s settings, the app’s text and spacing get larger too, up to a limit that keeps every screen easy to use. Come back to the app and it updates.
To keep the app at its standard size instead, go to Settings → Appearance and turn off Match my phone’s text size. It applies to that device only.
On Android, the app’s text also follows your phone’s font size. The Match my phone’s text size switch comes to Android in a future app update.
On the web, use your browser’s own zoom or text size settings.
Help, Feedback and Legal
Section titled “Help, Feedback and Legal”The Help group near the bottom of Settings has Help & support (this help center) and Send feedback (report a bug, suggest an idea, or ask a question). On a phone or tablet, Privacy policy and Terms links and the app’s version are at the very bottom of Settings.
Language
Section titled “Language”Agathos Books is currently available in English. Other language selections are planned.
