Inviting Members

Grow your library by inviting others to join. Send email invitations or share a link—they’ll be able to browse your books and borrow from your collection.

Invitation tools live on the Promote tab in the library admin panel. Open your library, tap Manage, then Promote. For full details on email invites, auto-join links, and expiration, see Promoting your library.

  3. Optionally add a personal message

They’ll receive an email with a link to join your library. The invitation is valid for 14 days.

  2. Paste multiple email addresses (one per line, or separated by commas)
  3. Add an optional message that everyone will see
  4. Tap Send Invitations

Auto-join link (instant join, no approval):

  1. From Promote, tap Auto-join link
  2. Choose 7, 30, or 90 days for how long the link stays valid
  3. Tap Generate link, then Share or Copy link

Share library link (browse first, you approve each join):

  1. At the top of Promote, use Share link in the Share your library section
  2. Send the link anywhere—recipients request to join and you approve them

Short auto-join links show a branded card in iMessage, WhatsApp, and social media with your library name and cover image.

See who’s accepted and who’s still pending.

  1. From the Promote tab, tap Email invitations
  2. Switch to the list view to see each invitation’s status

From here you can:

  • Resend an invitation if someone didn’t receive it
  • Cancel a pending invitation
  • See when someone accepted

When someone accepts your invitation:

  1. They’re automatically added as a library member
  2. They can browse all books in the library
  3. They can request to borrow books
  4. They can share their own books with the library (optional)

You’ll get a notification when someone joins.

Once people have joined:

  • Add more books — The more books in your library, the more everyone can enjoy
  • Set up reading plans — Create shared reading goals for your group
  • Adjust permissions — Promote trusted members to admin if you want help managing the library
  • Invitation expired? No problem—just send a new one. The old link will stop working automatically.
  • Wrong email? Cancel the invitation and send a new one to the correct address.
  • Want to limit access? Keep your library private and only share invitation links with people you know.
