Using the Mobile App
Agathos Books works on your phone, tablet, and computer. You can use the native app from the App Store or Google Play, or access everything through your web browser.
Getting the App

The native apps and the web app share the same account and data. You can switch between them anytime without losing anything.
Native App vs. Web App
Section titled “Native App vs. Web App”The native app creates a better experience and adds a few extra features over the web app:

Push Notifications
Section titled “Push Notifications”The native app delivers push notifications directly to your phone, even when the app isn’t open. You’ll get notified about:
- Borrow requests on your books
- Loan approvals and status changes
- Books ready for pickup
- Due date reminders
- Reading plan updates
To manage what you receive, go to Settings → Notifications in the app. See Notification preferences for the full list of channels.
Using the Web App on Your Phone
Section titled “Using the Web App on Your Phone”If you prefer not to install the app, the web version works great on mobile and desktop browsers:
- Open agathosbooks.com in your browser
- Sign in to your account
- Optionally, add it to your home screen for quick access:
- iPhone: Tap the Share button → Add to Home Screen
- Android: Tap the menu → Add to Home Screen or Install App
This creates an app-like experience that launches from your home screen.
Scanning Books
Section titled “Scanning Books”Both the native app and web app support barcode scanning with your phone’s camera. Open the scanner, point it at a book’s ISBN barcode, and the book is identified automatically.

- Enable push notifications in the native app so you don’t miss time-sensitive actions like pickup windows
- The web and native apps share the same account — sign in with the same email or phone number on any device
