Leaving a Library

You can leave any library you’ve joined at any time — your books stay with you, and your shared books simply come off that library’s shelves.

How to leave

Open the library page.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Leave library. On a computer, it is in the right-hand column, under About this library.
Confirm in the dialog (Leave this library?) by tapping Leave library, or tap Stay in the library to keep your membership. Once you have left, the app opens All my libraries.

The Leave library button appears only when you are a member and not the library owner.

Before you leave

Finish active loans first. You cannot leave while you have any in-progress loans in that library. Complete, return, or cancel those loans first. If you try anyway, the dialog stays open and says Finish or cancel your loans in this library first.
Your shared books are removed from the library. Books you have shared with the library are removed from its catalog when you leave. They stay in My Books; other members just cannot borrow them there anymore.

What happens when you leave

You immediately lose access to the library
Your shared books are removed from the library catalog
You are removed from reading plans in that library
Your past loan history with that library is preserved

Rejoining

You can request to join again anytime from the library’s page link — your request goes through the normal approval process. Or ask the owner or an admin for a fresh invite link.
